Week-3 Studio

I was not present in this class, but when I asked around what we were taught and what we were supposed to do in this class I got to know that we were supposed to write 10 metaphors on ourself. Once the metaphors were written we had to convert the 10 metaphors to 2D form using lines and dots in 4″X4″ boxes using black and white colours only.

Slowly I learnt from the previous activity, how to express myself only using lines and dots. This activity and my compositions using lines and dots continue to make more sense to me.

My 10 metaphors are:

  • I am a touch me not flower.
  • She was a Pearl always in a shell
  • Every time she spoke, honey dripped from her mouth
  • I am a tide sometimes high and sometimes low
  • Everyone is a star but I am the pole star
  • I am an Internet browser
  • She is a bird and the sky her freedom
  • She is an unplugged radish, lush green leaves gave away nothing of what was hiding underneath
  • I am the flashlight to my friend’s phone
  • I am a personal journal with a lock
