Zine

Today, we were introduced to the concept of zine. Jai sir showed us a lot of different zines and discussed zine ideas with us. The zines were very interesting and unique.

My personal favourite was ‘The List Zine’, the idea behind this zine was not anything out of the blue but it was so general that no one thought of that and that was the most beautiful part of it.

After looking at these zines I knew that I wanted to make something that everyone can relate to or something that is related to me. So I thought of a few ideas:

• First thing that came to mind is that there are a lot of things that people think make a person ugly but in reality these are the things that make you different from others and help you stand out in a crowd. So I was going to make a zine on this.
• This idea was about and around me. I am one of the shortest member in my family but amongst my friends or in general I am pretty tall. half of the people I am surrounded with are perfect size fro my hand rest and for the other half ( my family) I am the hand rest. I wanted to make a list of things against which I feel small or tiny.
• Another idea that stuck my mind was, how at different ages our life goal changes and the answer to the question “What we want to become when you grow up” changes. My continuously changing timeline for this question is – Teacher> Doctor >Actress >Model >Lawyer > Housewife(For a split second) >Fashion designer.
• Lastly, the idea we finalised “Silly things I do everyday” this idea is personal and yet a lot of people can relate to it. I think it is the perfect as it is informative yet funny.
