Week-2 Integrative Studio

We watched ‘Amelie’ a French movie about, well Amelie, a dreamy girl who likes to help people and deliver some vigilante justice in her own fun way.

The movie has instances of surrealism, the world of the non-living seems to light up and give advice to our lover. It includes overarching plots which usually have Amelie helping people around her.
Surprisingly the first one is triggered by what I would like to believe was a butterfly effect (Amelie drops a cap after listening to the news of Lady Diana’s death which rolls on to reveal a hidden tile panel, containing a long lost treasure, what are the chances of that?).

The main character apart from Amelie is Daufayel, an artist living in her building who seems to have a hard time capturing one particular woman in one of his paintings. She tells him stories about the women, adding a bit of her own, to explain as to why she seems lost in the composition of otherwise engaged audience.

After the movie we were asked to write a few words that we would use to describe the movie. A few of my words are:

  • Vintage
  • Zoro/ Vigilante
  • Funny
  • Weird
  • Chaotic
  • Confusing
  • Imaginary

Our faculty then choose one word from each person’s list. and after that we were supposed to click picture depicting the same. My word was Vigilante.
