Week-8 Sustainable Systems

Today we were supposed to present the presentation we’ve been working on in the past weeks. We saw everyone’s presentations and everyone had something that was different and unique. One group showed how the government is using social media to spread awareness, they showed the government policy and the measures taken in a very unique way. One of the other groups had a very detailed study on their topic and their area they also added a designer’s page and showed how we can buy sustainable goods. One more thing I remember is that the presentation for Marine Life had a really different and informative case study.

Even though each group had different topics, there was something that was similar in each and every presentation and that was waste, garbage and cleanliness. Some had garbage disposal, some had waste segregation and some had recycling garbage. Almost all the groups touched the topic of waste and garbage.

Our presentation was the only presentation that didn’t fulfil the requirements. All of us misunderstood the task and merged the instruction for the macro-level and case study and instead of making 2 different presentations. Prekshika and I worked really hard to put this together. I was satisfied with the case studies and the video really helped us to present what the main problem we were trying to highlight. However, our macro-level presentation was lacking a lot of infographics, informations and graphics.

After getting over with the class Prekshika and I sat together and finished the presentation. Collected all the data and infographics and pictures from around crescent bay. We also used our macro level survey for the presentation. I was very satisfied with the presentation we managed to put together.

I didn’t actually make the presentation because I am not that great with gadgets, but I did most of the research for the presentation. I learned how to organise the data in a more understanding manner. I also learnt how to convert the text and data into infographics. After hours and hours of modifying and remaking the ppt we finally were able to finish it.

For the problem identification we found the perfect video that describes what we were trying to explain:  https://www.firstpost.com/india/watch-where-all-of-mumbais-medical-waste-goes-3483835.html
