Shading of skin tones and different texture techniques were covered today. The faculty explained how shadows work on faces as faces have different contour opposed to basic geometric shapes which were covered in the last class, to simplify the process human faces can broken down into basic geometric shapes too (pyramid for nose, rhombus for lips, rectangle for forehead etc.) Our teacher had already traced out a man’s picture from a magazine to show us shading of face using pencil colour. She had a different set of pencil colours specifically for the face shading

In today’s class we also discussed different textures such as hatching, cross hatching, lines and dots, stippling, interlock, chevron, ripples, scribbling etc.
