This week, we were given our final Week 15 project. For this project we have to create a module related to the topic that was be assigned to us. The topic that ma’am assigned us was ‘Water Consumption’. This is a group project and the groups are the same as they were for the Week-8 project.
While doing the research we came across a lot of ideas for a module but nothing was really going with out topic. Initially it was a bit difficult for us to elect one specific activity for our module. However, slowly we were getting closer to what we wanted to do.
First, we finalised that our module was not going to be just a single activity but a combination of 2-3 activities. We really wanted to make it interactive so we decided upon a ‘Poster Making Activity’ as the base of all the other things in our module. We wanted this to reach a large audience and not just our target audience, as this topic, ‘Water Consumption’ is a really sensitive topic today. For our target audience, we decided to approach the slum areas in Mumbai this time, because for our last project, ‘Good Health and Well-being’ research we had approached the urban population. Also, water consumption is a larger problem for the people living in these slums without proper infrastructure and without access to enough clean water.
We decide that we were going to make a Zine which would contain the posters that the people would make and we also planned on asking general water related questions to the people in the slums and putting those in the zine. To make our project reach a larger audience we were going to make a short movie, more like an ad campaign with clips for the poster activity and the questionnaire.
I am hoping this group turns out better than the last project with this group one.
